Two people who like spending time together.

That's the bare minimum for a relationship, in my opinion. Patrick was asking what I define a relationship as, and I didn't know. I'd always thought that you can't really care for someone unless you are in an official, committed relationship. I now find that untrue.

Patrick and I are in a relationship, I now realize. Just because we're not sexually exclusive doesn't mean we don't care for each other, and that's pretty okay. It's not  like he's ashamed of being seen with me, he interlocks our fingers when he holds my hand and puts his arm around me when we walk.

I'm pretty happy either way! He is seriously the most awesome person I've ever met! Silly whenever, mature when appropriate, so chill and yet so much fun. I, personally, would say we're in a relationship even if it's not "facebook official" (because I guess that validates life for this generation?). Even if he doesn't consider us a relationship, I have so much fun just spending time with him that I don't care about anything else, especially not labels. What matters is that he makes me feel safe, makes me laugh,  gives me butterflies in my stomach, and most importantly he makes me happy. What more could I ask for? Besides a can of black olives.
