Why do we stress so much and complain about stressing while creating an environment conducive to stress? There's a term in psychopathology called the reciprocal gene-environment model, where people tend to create situations that activate their genetic vulnerabilities to certain disorders. I wonder why that is. There's no possible way it happens on purpose, so why does it happen so often? Maybe because we all have to face our fears, even if we're unaware of what they are
Maybe not. Perhaps we all have to deal with what life throws at us, and some of us struggle to overcome more than others because of genetic predispositions. There's no moral of the story here, just thoughts.
